Abstract

The magnitude of the impact of information on society has greatly increased the deployment of new types of confrontation in the world, in particular the information wars, which main task was to achieve or demoralize the enemy, legitimize aggressive actions, justify the victory in the conflict against appropriate discredit, change real weapons. In nowadays context of Ukrainian independence, the media often use public opinion manipulative technologies to enhance their influence on important strategic decisions. Powerful media attacks in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict with frankly propaganda content continue to exert
their destructive influence.
The article discusses the specifics and some features of information warfare.Determines the role of modern mass media and the main directions of the disinformation campaign against Ukraine. The research analyzes the problems and the prospects of counteraction to manipulative information technologies.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the individual aspects of the functioning and role of modern mass media in the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
