Abstract

Construction of the picture of the world of personality within the information society conditions

At the actual stage of historical development, mankind is going through the high point of information technologies development. The process of informatization has a significant influence on the structure of social processes, modifies social connections and synthesizes new ways of interaction. The Internet and media resources not only simplify our daily life, but also become an additional tool in constructing a subjective picture of the world. The world picture of the personality is being constructed not only on the basis of independent observations, this phenomenon is increasingly formed on the basis of information that a person receives from Internet resources and the media. The individual picture of the world is a kind of compiler of the knowledge of society, but framed by a subjective worldview. The constant progress of society and its transformation stimulate the personality to self-improvement, which reveals at all levels of his being. A large flow of information which spread on the humanity, creates additional pressure and requires a significant expenditure of energy for its comprehension. Each new image is going through assessment on the parameters of validity and compliance of reality and only after passing the filter is assimilated in the picture of the world of the personality or falling out.

To cope with new loads, our brain adapts and changes the direction of cognitive processes, e. g. it reduces certain properties or conversely activates new ways of perception. Open access to cyberspace and the preservation of a large array of information have already affected the properties of memory: the transaction mnemonic process is actualized, where important element for remembering is the place for storage of the information, rather than its content, which reduces the information load. Perception of the surrounding world has become simultaneous (not linear), the subject grasps the whole image, not the details. Visual information has come out on the first place, and the text has become only support.

A new generation formed on the basis of the Internet-space is armed with so-called clip-thinking. It is formed on the basis of small fragments of information, which are deprived of the main idea and supplemented with excerpts of impressions, constantly rebooted and updated. Thereby, the main characteristics for perception are dynamism, lability and actuality. Open access to the information gives to the person confidence in his views, in the cross-investigation of various alternatives. In social networks, a person can frankly express her opinion, defend and argue. It is not about reduction of thought, but new form of Its being.
