Abstract

The article deals with the analysis of the theoretical approaches to the problem of the formation of the officers-psychologists’ psychological readiness for the professional activity: the functional, personal, competent and integrative ones. The psychological readiness of the would-be officers-psychologists for their professional activity is defined as an integrative entity that mobilizes the internal personal resources and provides psychological fitness for action.

The expediency of applying the integrative approach to the problem of forming psychological readiness for the profession is noted. Such an approach will make it possible to combine the elements of each of the described approaches into a coherent whole, to achieve effective indicators of the psychological readiness of the would-be officers-psychologists for their professional activity. The individual, functional and special types of readiness are singled out. Each type involves certain structural components and their indicators.

The basic approaches and peculiarities of determining the criteria of readiness for professional activity in modern science are substantiated. Within the integrative approach, the main criteria and indicators of the psychological readiness of the would-be officers-psychologists for the fulfilment of their professional tasks are determined and grounded. The criteria of personal readiness include: the psychological, motivational, cognitive, moral, emotional and volitional types of readiness and their indicators; of the functional readiness – the communicative, operational, creative, evaluation types of readiness and their indicators; of the special readiness – the military, commander’s, synergistic types of readiness and their indicators.

On the basis of defined criteria and indicators, the prospects of the further empirical research into the features of the psychological readiness of the would-be officers-psychologists for their professional activity are outlined.
