Abstract

Stress resistance is one of the factors that influences the efficiency of professional activity. It has particular importance for specialists in socionomic professions. The success of their activities is determined not only by professional knowledge and skills, but also by the ability to implement these resources in their work through the development of professionally relevant personal qualities.

In modern psychological studies of professional stress resistance researchers pay special attention to the study of psychological resources of the individual, which are often considered as reserves that allow a person to act more effectively and succeed, overcome stress and cope with life difficulties. However, the mechanisms and psychological resources of the formation of professional stress resistance of specialists of socionomic professions are not studied yet, which indicates the lack of attention paid by researchers to this problem and causes a gap in the training of specialists of social-oriented professions.

The purpose of the study was to compare the stress resistance personal resources of students and specialists of socionomic professions, which will help to understand the mechanisms of the formation of professional stress resistance.

The empirical study involved 198 students from secondary and higher educational institutions of Chernivtsi and 214 specialists working in different socionomic professions; in total - 412 people. Age of the subjects - from 15 to 47 years. Among the subjects, there were 104 men and 308 women.

In the research were used the PSM-25 (Lemyr-Tessier-Fillion), a questionnaire for the loss and acquisition of personal resources (N. Vodopianova, M. Shteyn), the method of self-diagnostics of behavior type in a stressful situation (V. Boyko), method for determining social adaptation of Holmes and Rage.

Based on the generalization of the results of empirical research, the following conclusions can be drawn. Modern Ukrainian students from higher and secondary educational institutions are characterized by a low and average level of mental tension, while the behavior of specialists is characterized by higher level of mental tension. However, specialists are characterized by a high level of resource efficiency: they are more focused on their achievements and assets, and much less on losses.

Thus, adaptive human capabilities and resistance to stressogenic living conditions are due to the type of person in which the leading role is played by personal (socio-psychological) resources, under the influence of which an individual-specific attitude to the stressful situation is made.
