Abstract

The article examines feed production from the perspective of commodity production. The experience of developed countries of the world on the specified issues is analyzed with the aim of its further implementation in Ukrainian conditions. The current state of commodity feed production in Ukraine is characterized by an urgent need to attract investment resources and adapt world practices for the development of this industry. In developed economies, feed production functions as a separate industrial sector, based on the application of advanced technologies of production, procurement, storage and logistics. In view of this, modern commodity feed production in Ukraine requires the development of an investment strategy as a comprehensive system of long-term investment activity goals, determined by the general objectives of the industry development and the investment paradigm, as well as the definition of optimal ways to achieve them, taking into account the experience of highly developed countries.

The significant role of the development of an investment strategy in ensuring the effective dynamics of feed production has been established, which allows solving the following tasks: ensuring a mechanism for implementing long-term strategic and investment goals for the future economic and social development of the industry; assessing investment opportunities and maximizing the use of investment potential; initiating new investment opportunities; minimizing the negative impact of unforeseen changes in the external investment environment; forming basic criteria for selecting relevant investment projects and financial investment instruments; creating prerequisites for the strategic transformation of the organizational structure of the functioning of the feed production industry. At the same time, feed production should be oriented towards modern global trends, taking into account environmental imperatives, in particular, preference should be given to organic feed production. Feed production covers the cycles of production, storage, packaging and transportation of feed, which determines the relevant areas of investment.
