Abstract

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the digital transformation of Ukraine's economy, taking into account global technological trends, wartime challenges and strategic directions of post-war recovery. It is important to note that digitalisation is not merely a tool for modernisation; it is also a significant factor in increasing the sustainability of state institutions, business efficiency and citizen engagement in management processes. This study focuses on the analysis of the digital structure of the national economy, encompassing the state of digital infrastructure, the development of e-government (with particular reference to the platform “DIYA”), the introduction of financial technologies, e-commerce, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The present study employs data from international rankings (EGDI, EPI, GII, NCSI) to assess Ukraine's position in the digital space. The impact of digital transformation on GDP, IT employment, and Internet penetration is highlighted. The findings of the regression analysis indicate that the export of IT services and the number of Internet users exert the most significant positive influence on GDP dynamics during the period 2019-2024. It has been demonstrated that Ukraine, in its adaptation of the EU's digital development strategies, is progressively attaining a level of digital maturity that is comparable to that of European countries. The successful achievement of digital goals is not merely a technical task; it is also a social transformation that involves education, employment, business and the state. It is imperative that further efforts are made to expand digital infrastructure, improve digital literacy, strengthen cybersecurity, and improve digital legislation. This will be pivotal to the successful implementation of Ukraine's digital strategy, both in the context of post-war recovery and in the long-term perspective of European integration. The article sets out a series of strategic approaches to accelerating digital change in the context of European integration. These approaches include the development of 5G, investment in human capital, improvement of the regulatory framework and attraction of international experience.
