Prof. Myroslav Voloshchuk drew attention to the Hungarian-Polish Chronicle as a source for the history of Ruthenian-Hungarian relationship in his excellent monograph on Ruthenian-Hungarian relationship in the Middle Ages. However, there is no more detailed analysis of this Chronicle in Ukraine. It is the aim of the paper. I presented the text of the source, its dating (based on the story of the marriage of the daughter of Mstyslav of Halych with the Hungarian prince) and analyzed two stories: 1) about the marriage, and 2) about the Polish-Hungarian border end-point in Castrum Salis on the border of both countries with Ruthenia. It seems that both information has different sources. The story of the border probably could have its roots in the lost Polish tradition, maybe from the time of Bolesław the Generous (second half of the 11th century), while the story of the marriage of a Hungarian ruler with a daughter of Mstyslav of Halych reflected the political tendencies of the Arpadian court to incorporate Halych Ruthenia to the Arpad’s domain.
