Abstract

In the article, the authors continue the publication of the materials of the accounting file of the priest of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, Father Dmytro Kubayevych (1890–1980), which is now stored under number 490 in the Archive of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Ternopil region (at the address of the city of Ternopil, 11 Valova St.). The authors of the publication tried to preserve the authenticity of the document as much as possible when translating it from Russian into Ukrainian.

The article highlights the following eight documents of the accounting case: the protocol of the interrogation of Dmytro Ivanovych Kubayevych dated September 27, 1949, the protocol of the interrogation of Anelia Mykhaylivna Popko dated December 25, 1949, the protocol of the interrogation of Nykyfor Trofymovych Kornienko dated January 23, 1950, information on Dmytro Ivanovych Kubayevych, issued by the executive committee of the Kopychyn District Council on January 27, 1950, by the Commissioner of the Council for the Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church under the RM of the Ukrainian SSR in the Ternopil Region on January 27, 1950, by the Kopychyn District Military Commissar on February 2, 1950, letters from the head of the Kopychyn Region of the MDB, the heads of the UNKDB and the UNKVS of the Ternopil Region from December 30, 1949 and to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from February 1, 1950.

The published documents reveal the mechanisms of the repressive policy of the Soviet totalitarian regime, clearly show the fictitiousness of the priest’s accusations of “gang support”and outline the real reason for the eviction – loyalty to the Greek Catholic Church.

Key words: accounting, Soviet state security agencies, eviction, special settlement, priest, Dmytro Kubaevych, underground Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
