Abstract

The author attempted to read, interpret and date one of the oldest Cyrillic inscriptions stored on the walls of the St. Panteleimon church. Moscow researcher Oleksii Hippius offers critical rethinking of the epigraphic source reading version. The author illustrates one episode of the church history in the princely period.
