The article by Polish scientist and educator Dr. Józef Zieliński (1899–1976) provides a brief historical and cultural overview of the most important monuments in the history of Halych. The author offers methodological recommendations for organizing educational excursions for students with the aim of studying and deepening knowledge about the past of Halych and its immediate surroundings from the 12th to the 18th century. The educator clearly outlines the main places of the tourist route, their relevance from the perspective of archaeological research in 1936–1937, the possibilities of the infrastructure at that time, the preliminary plan, and the timing of the trip.
Dr. J. Zieliński methodological materials have been translated into Ukrainian with the maximum preservation of stylistic and substantive content. At the same time, the translator and editor’s notes, which do not alter but rather supplement the text, are added in square brackets. The list of literature provided by the author is preserved according to the original, as well as certain historical inaccuracies.
