In the presented article, based on chronicle information and conclusions of predecessors, the historian thoroughly explores the role and significance of the Galician boyars, examining it through the lens of the socio-political organization of society. The relationships between the boyars, the community, and princely authority in Halych are elucidated. The author offers his perspective on the Galician boyars as an exceptional phenomenon, unparalleled in other Rus lands in terms of economic and political influence ‒ a powerful class capable of subduing the community (viche), princely authority, and independently determining the fate of the land.
