A selection of the author's materials is dedicated to localizing the most important historical and architectural monuments in the outlines of historical Halych. Much attention is paid to the city's defense capacity, its favorable location, and natural defense capabilities. The townspeople subsequently used all these to their advantage which can be seen from the glorious history of Halych and the region, especially during the XII–XIII centuries.
