The study of the history of Halych has been going on for more than a decade. Modern historical research is largely based on the scientific achievements of previous years. Familiarization with these texts is necessary for a better understanding of the processes of accumulating knowledge about medieval Halych. Therefore we continue to publish texts that once played an important role in understanding of the historical processes connected with the city. The discovery of the cathedral foundations in 1936 became an extremely important contribution to the study of the history of Halych, because it gave an opportunity to put an end to the issue of localization of the centre of the princely capital. This significant event stirred up not only the Ukrainian public, but also the entire European World. Both the Ukrainian and Foreign Press wrote about it. We offer our readers publications by various authors, in particular dr. and father Jozef Zastyrets, dr. Jozef Pelensky, dr. Yaroslav Pasternak, artist and art critic Svyatoslav Gordуnsky. The selected articles were once published in the newspaper «Dilo», one of the leading magazines in Galicia. The original language is preserved along with the author’s style features.
