The influence of confined phonons on the coefficient of interband absorption of polarized light as a function of its frequency has been investigated. A comparison was made between the obtained results and those obtained considering polarized phonons in a bulk crystal. The dependence of interband light absorption on the ellipsoid's axis ratio has been established. Calculations were performed for various temperatures and radii of the quantum dot in the CdS/SiO2 heterostructure, shaped as an elongated spheroid.
