Abstract

. The article explores the training of teachers in the natural sciences within the framework of modernizing professional practice, emphasizing the development of their competencies and the ability to operate effectively under conditions of technological and societal transformation. Special attention is devoted to the concept of astronomical education, which is oriented toward the acquisition of knowledge, the cultivation of astronomical culture, the enhancement of spirituality, and the fostering of creative individuality. A model of professional competence for astronomy teachers in secondary education institutions is proposed, and its structural components are analyzed in accordance with the competence-based approach and contemporary requirements for teaching staff. Furthermore, the article addresses the issue of integrating physics and astronomy curricula in the professional preparation of future teachers of these disciplines.
