Abstract

The bibliographic review of scientific achievements of university teachers of the Department of French Philology covers the period from 2002 to the beginning of 2022, i.e. from the foundation of the department at the Faculty of Foreign Languages up to the present day. Since the Department of French Philology was established on the basis of a section in the depths of the Department of World Literature and Comparative Literature, the research initiated by Professor Volodymyr Matviishyn, continued its logical progress in the form of comparative typological studies and relationship of the French and Ukrainian literatures, comparative studies and authentic translations, using modern interpretive techniques. Scientific publications of teachers of the department demonstrate a multi-vector nature, from historical and typological studies through the in-depth study of French writers to immersion in modern methodologies of text research, implemented within the scientific theme «Linguo-cultural and comparative aspects of the French language and literature». In this bibliographic review we focus only on comparative literary studies which do not exhaust the scientific achievements of the Department of French Philology, they are supplemented by linguistic, translation and methodological works. The Master’s program «French Language and Literature», introduced in 2007, encourages students’ scientific research, and helps update the research topics and issues.
