Focus and Scope

The collection of scientific papers "Current Issues of Improving the Existing Legislation of Ukraine" is a professional publication featuring the results of scholarly research on topical issues of legal regulation in Ukraine. The collection aims to contribute to the development of legal science, foster discussion of problems in law enforcement practice, and formulate well-grounded proposals for improving national legislation.

The scope of the publication covers four main areas:

Theoretical, Applied, Comparative, Philosophical, and Historical Foundations of Legal Regulation. This area features research on the conceptual foundations of law, the methodology of legal science, and the historical development of legal institutions and the state. The authors address fundamental questions of legal understanding, the relationship between law and statute, and the evolution of the national legal tradition, which forms the theoretical basis for the further improvement of branch legislation. Considerable attention is devoted to comparative jurisprudence.

Private Law. This area encompasses research in civil, family, labour, and other branches of law that regulate relations between parties to private-law relationships. Particular attention is paid to issues of contract law, property law, inheritance and corporate relations, the protection of the rights of subjects of private-law relations, and the harmonisation of national legislation with European standards.

Public Law and Policy in Combating Crime. This area brings together research in constitutional, administrative, criminal, and criminal procedural law, criminology, and other fields of public-law studies. The authors analyse issues of state-building, the functioning of public authorities, the safeguarding of human rights and freedoms, as well as the formation of effective state policy in combating crime, responding to criminal offences, and related matters.

Legal Protection of the Environment and the Legal Regime of Natural Resources Use. This area addresses issues of environmental, land, and agrarian law, as well as the legal framework for the rational use of natural resources. The research covers mechanisms for protecting the natural environment, legal liability for environmental offences, and the adaptation of natural resources legislation to contemporary challenges and Ukraine's international obligations.

The materials published in the collection combine in-depth theoretical analysis with a practical orientation, a significant share of the publications contain concrete proposals for improving existing legal acts and legal institutions.

The publication is intended for researchers, lecturers, postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, undergraduate students, cadets, and trainees of legal institutes and faculties, as well as for practising lawyers.
