The article substantiates the significance of the Montessori environment in correcting speech development in older preschool children attending early childhood education institutions. It is emphasized that educators can effectively use the Montessori environment to organize both individual and group play-based learning activities aimed at overcoming speech difficulties in children with general speech underdevelopment. Such activities have a positive impact on sound automation and differentiation, vocabulary development, the formation of coherent speech, and the development of cognitive processes. They also contribute to enhancing auditory and visual perception in older preschool children with general speech underdevelopment.
At the same time, the primary work on speech correction is carried out by a speech therapist, while educators perform a supportive role and may involve parents in addressing their children’s speech development difficulties.
