The article investigates the problem of developing creativity in senior preschool children (aged 5–7) through artistic activity in preschool educational institutions (PEI). The phenomenon of creativity is examined from the perspective of foreign pedagogical science. Pedagogical conditions for its effective development are substantiated: the poly-artistic approach, the creation of a subject-developmental environment, and non-traditional techniques of visual arts. The role of arts disciplines in shaping the creative personality of the future preschool educator is revealed. The structural components of the educator’s creative competence and practical forms of its development are identified.
