Abstract

The article examines the features of patriotic education of Ukrainian youth in wartime conditions through the prism of a socio-pedagogical approach. The relevance of the study is due to the need to form in the younger generation a high level of national consciousness, civic responsibility, readiness to defend the state and active participation in the restoration and development of Ukrainian society. In conditions of full-scale war, patriotic education acquires special importance as an important factor in consolidating society, preserving national identity and strengthening the resilience of youth to external and internal challenges.

Modern approaches to understanding patriotic education as a holistic process of forming a system of values, beliefs, moral guidelines and behavioral models based on love for the Motherland, respect for the national culture, history and traditions of the Ukrainian people are analyzed. It is emphasized that in wartime, the content of patriotic education expands and covers issues of national security, civic resilience, volunteering, media literacy, countering disinformation, and developing skills for responsible social behavior.

The role of educational institutions, families, public organizations, and youth associations in implementing the tasks of patriotic education is determined. It is emphasized that the educational process should contribute not only to the transfer of knowledge about the history and culture of Ukraine, but also to the development of critical thinking, social activity, readiness for social interaction, and awareness of personal responsibility for the future of the state. Particular attention is paid to the use of modern pedagogical technologies, interactive teaching methods, project activities, and volunteer initiatives as effective tools for the formation of patriotic qualities in youth.

It is substantiated that patriotic education in wartime is not only an educational but also a social phenomenon that ensures the strengthening of civic unity, the development of national self-awareness, and the formation of a generation of responsible citizens capable of protecting democratic values and national interests of Ukraine. It is concluded that the effectiveness of patriotic education depends on the complex interaction of educational institutions, the state, civil society, and youth, as well as on the ability of the education system to respond promptly to modern social challenges and the needs of wartime.
