Abstract

 The article analyzes the views of the leading European and Ukrainian scholars on the role of culture for personal development. It is emphasized that one should view the educational process in the context of cultural development and focus on the free self-discovery for self-development and self-determination. The application of the dialogic and creative meanings of culture is substantiated. The stages of self-education according to I. Ziaziun are systematized. The author's system for introduction of the culturological approach in postgraduate pedagogical education is provided.
